Waterfront Property
Waterfront property is in no short supply here in Citrus County. Home to seven major waterways and a lake chain comprised of 50 smaller lakes, this area is known for its premiere properties and homes located along these banks.
In the western part of the county, the Crystal River and Homosassa River flow. These spring-fed rivers are sparkling clear and hover at a pleasant 72-degrees all year. Additionally, the rivers directly flow into the Gulf of Mexico, which offers some excellent saltwater fishing for the more adventurous. These waters are home to the renowned manatee during the winter months, gentle marine mammals that have recently made a comeback from the brink of extinction.
Kings Bay also directly connects with the gulf. Here, some of the nicer properties are found, as well as more luxurious homes. Spend lazy afternoons floating out in the bay, soaking in some of the warm Florida sunshine.
In the northern part of the county, the Rainbow River's crystal clear spring water flows. The river is perhaps best know for "tubing." Swimmers use tubes and floats and allow the river's current to carry them downstream for the much of the length of the river. For four hours, swimmers can enjoy the pristine water, magnificent native wildlife, and incredible natural vegetation. Boaters can also traverse this river for a peaceful day on the water.
The eastern portion of the county sports the Tsala Apopka Lake Chain. In particular, Big Lake Henderson offers some of the best property sites around. With Gospel Island and Pritchard Island overlooking its glassy surface, Big Lake Henderson, is the perfect place for a picnic on the water or a quiet afternoon of bass fishing.
Investing in properties is very lucrative; investing in waterfront properties is even more so. See what Citrus County has to offer, find your ideal property or home, and make one of the best investments of your life!
